Lackey Sheet Metal / St. Louis Blow Pipe is committed to safety - the
safety of our employees, our customers and our customer's employees and
anyone in or around our projects. Construction, by nature, is a
hazardous business. Lackey Sheet Metal / St. Louis Blow Pipe recognizes
this and has developed and implemented a comprehensive in-house safety
program. In keeping with the ever-changing needs of the construction
industry, we utilize this safety program in our daily activities to
ensure the safety of our employees and our customer's employees.
Lackey Sheet Metal / St. Louis Blow Pipe’s safety program includes a
complete safety manual. Our Standard Training and Orientation (S.T.O.P.)
and HAZCOM programs are used in the initial training of every
construction worker. Lackey Sheet Metal / St. Louis Blow Pipe’s work
force is required to complete the 30-hour O.S.H.A course. Construction
Outreach programs are used to thoroughly train all management and
supervisory personnel. In addition, these manuals are available at every
jobsite and are used frequently to further train and prepare our labor
force in safe construction practices.
Safety meetings called Toolbox meetings are held weekly at every jobsite
and in the shop. During these meetings, supervisory personnel discuss
safety topics specific to the jobsite or shop with the labor force to
ensure that each member of the construction or fabrication team makes
safety their top priority.
Lackey Sheet Metal / St. Louis Blow Pipe’s safety program is designed to
adapt to the various types of products and equipment used. Material
Safety Data Sheets are available at the jobsite and shop so all
personnel can be well informed as to the potential dangers and safety
measures recommended for each product used.
Safety responsibility starts with each worker, continues with the foreman
and/or project manager and is overseen by our safety department. The
safety department works with our insurance carriers, supervises jobsite
safety and conducts jobsite safety inspections. They also prepare
various statistical data and special reports to comply with regulatory
procedures.
In the event of an accident on the jobsite, the vast majority of our work
force arrives at your project with first-aid and C.P.R. training and
certification. However, we believe it is due to our well-established
safety training programs that we have been able to minimize the number
of accidents on our jobsites.
